Wooden sword (木刀), made from carefully selected trees from forests in Miyazaki Prefecture (宮崎), Japan. The wood is then patiently stored for slow and controlled drying, an essential procedure for manufacturing quality products. The bokutō is manufactured with all the expertise and experience of the craftsmen of the Miyakonojō (都城) region, renowned for their excellence.
White beech is renowned for its robustness, and recommended for contact practice. It is particularly the material of choice for the practice of Ryūshin Shōchi Ryū. It is also popular in the practice of many other styles.
For a chūtō (medium-sized bokutō), please choose the bokutō-chūtō (medium). For a shōtō (small-sized bokutō), please choose the bokutō-shōtō (small).
